Hawks Bantam Elite win Can-Am 15U Championships in Buffalo-Niagara

The Newmarket Hawks Bantam Elite team, sponsored by Royal Containers, outlasted 23 other teams from across the US Northeast and Southern Ontario to win the Can-Am 15U Championships in Buffalo-Niagara on Canada Day weekend.
Given the team was across the border for Canada 150, they made sure to proudly represent the maple leaf as well as the green-and-gold and ended up going undefeated throughout the tournament.
After jumping out to a 4-0 then 7-2 leads in the championship final, the Hawks held on for a 7-6 nailbiter over the Clarence (NY) Reds played at historic Sal Maglie Stadium in Niagara Falls, NY.
While the Reds were coming off a championship win at the recent Darien Lake 15U tournament, both teams were undefeated in this tournament entering the final game. And both teams were led by strong pitching and defence: the Reds had given up only 8 runs in preliminary round and playoff play while the Hawks had given up only 4.
